visibility and vulnerability

The more visibility you have, the more the central nervous system needs to be cared for because visibility and vulnerability go hand in hand. And visibility is extraordinarily vulnerable. Remarkably, vulnerability in physical symptomatology feels identical to anxiety. Same exact symptoms: muscle tension, shortness of breath, racing heart, sweating.

Teens are visible all of the time– phones, photos, online chats, zoom, mom’s posting them on facebook ect. ect. ect. When I work with teens, I teach them the difference between vulnerable and anxious. I help them become aware of their visibility, and how to become less visible for moments of rejuvenation.
